Light, Love & Betrayal

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone had a good Christmas! It was over too soon for me. Is it bad I’m already looking forward to next Christmas? I’m pretty excited about all the time and stories in between too. So let’s get started with today’s Friday Fictioneers! Thanks as always, to Rochelle for providing the prompt.

Light, Love & Betrayal

Damn, it was cold. Gemma shivered and looked at her watch. Rhys was late for his own meeting.

Below her, crowds bustled excitedly around the tower, snapping photos. She and Rhys were on assignment in Paris, the city of Light and Love. Not her favorite place. He had been acting odd the past few days. She hoped he wasn’t going to get romantic on her.

The sound of footsteps behind her made her turn. “Finally,” she muttered. A grim-faced Rhys holding a pistol aimed at her heart greeted her.

Dammit. Maybe some romance wouldn’t have been so bad after all.
