Snow Day

Happy Friday, Readers! It’s now 9 days until Christmas! Woo! To celebrate, I’m posting a Friday Fictioneers story for you! (Just kidding, I was going to do that anyway). Thanks, as always, is given to the lovely Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for hosting this prompt and also for providing this week’s photo!

Enjoy the story!

Snow Day

“Boys!” Three boys froze as their mom poked her head into their bedroom. “Snow day tomorrow. School’s cancelled!”

Mason, Michael and Max whooped and jumped on their beds, having heard the best news any kid can hear the night before school.

The next morning they were up uncharacteristically early. They bundled up and let their mom fuss for only a few minutes before tumbling out the door and into the snow. Forts were built, epic snowball fights were had, and the big hill behind the house was soon covered in sledding tracks.

The boys agreed. Snow days were the best.
